Meet Our Team:

Dennis, a True Potrero Local at the Marina

If you’ve spent time at our Marina shop, chances are you’ve met Dennis—our manager and longtime team member who brings both professionalism and warmth to everything he does.

Dennis has called Potrero home his entire life, and his family has lived here for more than 120 years, dating back to the late 1800s. Having witnessed firsthand the town’s transformation, he appreciates the new education and job opportunities that growth has brought, while also recognizing the challenges—such as rising costs of living and the need for better infrastructure.

After graduating from Country Day School (now CRIA), Dennis not only mastered English but also developed friendships with people from all over the world—something that makes him great in his role today. He’s been part of the Pura Vida Ride family for a total of seven years, working at both our Las Catalinas location before stepping into his current position as manager at the Marina.

When he’s not working, you can find Dennis playing soccer, fishing, sailing, or simply enjoying quality time outdoors with family and friends. He especially loves working at the Marina, where every day comes with an incredible view and a lively mix of tourists, locals, and regulars—from fishermen and boaters to families who make up a close-knit community.

For Dennis, being part of this community is what makes the job special: “The Marina brings together such a unique mix of people, and it feels good to be a part of that.”

Dennis’s love for the outdoors is shone in his work. Over the years, he’s guided kayak and snorkel tours, led hikes along the trails, and shared his passion for fitness and nature with guests. His easygoing nature makes him a favorite among visitors and colleagues alike, always finding ways to make the time fly with great conversation and good energy.
